Shares of Logitech, one of the biggest pc peripheral developers, rose about 12 percent as a result of loud rumours that Microsoft intends an $8 billion takeover.
It would be the biggest transaction of this kind made by Microsoft, however, Daniel Borel, Logitech‘s co-founder says: “I am a co-founder of Logitech. Would you be willing to sell your child?” although it is not a definite statement negating the rumours. As he goes on to say: “I have no reason to sell. But I will not be the one to decide. I own only some 6 percent so I will neither enable nor prevent a sale of Logitech.”

This would be an interesting situation as Microsoft‘s Xbox 360 competes with Sony‘s Playstation 3 and Logitech makes many peripherals for both consoles. If the rumour turned out to be true, would Logitech stop producing peripherals for Playstation?
