Hitachi DZ-BD9H - first Blue-ray Camcorder
Although the war between formats (Toshiba’s HD-DVD vs. Sony’s Blue-ray) is not formally over all the signs show that Sonywill be the victor.
Thus home movie passionates can now buy Hitachi camcorder with both a 30 hard disc and a Blue-Ray recorder. It enables recording videos directly to a Blue-ray disc, DVD disc or to a hard disc, as well as editing the videos prior to recording.
Hitachi’s camcorder works in 1920×1080 Full HD video which means that you can record about an 1-hour video on a single 8cm Blu-ray Disc (and a few additional hours on the hard drive), but when you record on DVD discs it works only in 720 x 480 pixel mode. The DZ-BD9H comes out first in Japan on the 12th of February for ¥180,000 (more or less $1700), but it is expected to appear on other markets quite soon.
