Polymer Vision Readius - cellphone with rollable display

Polymer Vision will release its Readius, first in the world cellphone with rollable display, later this year.

It supposed to be a hybrid combining a traditional mobile phone with an e-reader thus making it a competitor with the iPhone and Amazon’s Kindle. Readius is optimized for reading and as the producers say it should work for up to 30 hours without charging the battery.

Readius has a really big, yet only black and white, 5-inch display. It’s not really big when closed - 115 x 57 x 21mm and has only 8 buttons. You can listen to some music on it and audio podcasts too, of course, but it doesn’t support video files. No information concerning pricing is available at the moment, but if it is a high-end phone it might not be very successful.
