Sony Cybershot DSC-T300
Sony Cybershot DSC-T300 is a second generation digital camera with touch-screen from Sony.
Intro:
The second generation touch-screen digital camera is a nice looking gadget with Super Steady Shot image stabilization, 10.1 Megapixels and 5x optical zoom. The camera doesn’t have practically any buttons, so you control everything by touching the 3.5-inch LCD touch-screen. Carl Zeiss lens ought to ensure excellent image quality, but because of the little sensor – 1/2.3 the quality is a bit disappointing. But more on that in the performance section.
The Design:
The Sony Cybershot DSC-T300 is a really compact camera. It is 94 millimeters wide, 59,3 mm high, 21.4 mm deep and it weights 151 gram. As you can see in the pictures the design is quite smart. The back of the camera lacks any buttons as the 3.5’’ touch-screen covers it all. Because of that it is sometimes quite difficult to keep it in one hand and take good photos. You can get used to it if you remember that the screen may interpret incidental finger strokes as commands.

Performance:
The Sony Cybershot DSC-T300 can take photos of up to 10.1 Megapixels so it seems it is a powerful digital camera and that the Carl Zeiss lens should give great result. Yet the lens is really small, as is the sensor. So you can achieve some disconcerting results not only in low light. It seems that there is some automatic noise reduction feature which is always on. This means that it
reduces the image quality much too often than it should. Moreover, the camera does not give you any control over the aperture and shutter speed. When you add to that the not so good battery life – it requires recharging after about 130-150 shots – it really isn’t what we are used to get from Sony. But to say a few positive words, this digital camera has plenty of Scene Modes from which you can choose the one that suits the occasion, and seven White balance presets, so you can adjust it to your needs.

Menus:
As the Sony Cybershot DSC-T300 does not have any dedicated buttons you have to go into the menu to choose a Scene Mode or make some adjustments to the camera. Fortunately, the menus are logically organized and should be easy to use both to people acquainted with Sony digital cameras and newbies. In order to prevent accidental changes in options made by incidental touches the camera frequently asks for confirmation, which at the beginning is annoying but you can get used to it quickly.
All in all, considering its price and performance the Sony Cybershot DSC-T300 might be a good choice for people who will not want to print their photos in large formats and who appreciate design and innovation. Besides, apart from the digital camera in the box you get: Rechargeble battery pack (NP-BD1), Battery charger, Multi connector cable, Power Cord, Wrist Strap, Paint pen and a CD-ROM with some software.
