Canon established a new standard in professional photography with its digital camera named EOS-1D Mark III
EOS-1D Mark III records up to 10 frames per second at a resolution of 10.1 megapixels, in a series of more than 110 large JPEG images (30 RAW images). It shall be called the world’s fastest digital SLR one-lens. The title has been held by the model EOS-1D Mark II N. Two processors, “DIGIC III,” are driving forces behind the camera which provide high performance at high resolutions, for the first time entering into a series of EOS 14-bit recording images. A thorough reconstruction project resulted in the introduction of many new features and improvements in well-known series of cameras EOS-1 by Canon. These changes include: LCD screen with a 3-inch Live View mode, the built-in cleaning system EOS, a new automation system for sharpening using 19 sensors and 63 cross-Field measurement of exposure. Matrix photosensitive CMOS size of 28.1 x 18.7 mm (APS-H) standard allows the use of a broader range of the sensitivity of ISO 100-3200, and additionally provides the possibility of extending the low-to high-ISO 50 and ISO 6400. “The construction of the camera EOS-1D Mark III is a direct result of 20 years of experience in developing the Canon EOS line” – says Tsunemasa Ohara, Chief Executive Officer of the Centre for the Development company Canon cameras. He goes on to say “The construction of this model started completely from scratch. Every aspect of the process of obtaining photos was improved, and any amendment to the draft has been repeatedly evaluated, so that a new camera combines a series of EOS proper ergonomics and significantly improved technical specification. Our engineers are delighted with the final result. ”
Two processors, Canon “DIGIC III” allow the camera to achieve unprecedented speed, as well as improved quality and functionality of the camera images. The camera EOS-1D Mark III is ready to carry out photos in just 0.2 seconds from the time of sitching it on. It is able to process more than 100 megapixels of image data per second, which allows for quick evacuation buffer and allows the execution of up to 110 photos in one series. Processed images are characterised by 14-bit color depth, giving a total of 16 384 tones per pixel (12-bit images is 4096 tones). Photosensitive matrix CMOS third-generation technology is a new recording pixels matrix, which works with noise reduction agreement, which provides high image quality at ISO 3200 sensitivity The possibility of extension to the sensitivity level of ISO 6400 will satisfy professionals working wherever the use of flash is impossible or prohibited.
The sharpness automation company Canon has been designed so that it benefited from 19 sensors with a sensitivity to cross f / 2.8, which are distributed throughout the autofocus, which provides better quality of marginal objects in the frame. Even greater accuracy provides 26 points AF assist automation. In response to the needs of professional photographers from the back of the camera placed autofocus dedicated button, which allows the user to immediately turn on or off without turning eye off the viewfinder. The viewfinder and is now much clearer and provides a wider viewing angle. New, 63-Field measurement system provides camera photographers even more control over the parameters of exposure.
The Canon EOS-1D Mark III contains a whole range of practical improvements to facilitate the work of photographers. Durability snapshot increased by 50%, or at 300 000 cycles. Corps protects the engine casing from magnesium alloy, sealed so as not releasing dust and moisture. Built-in cleaning system EOS provides even greater reliability through the reduction of dust gathered on the matrix, which minimizes the need for manual cleaning. To prevent damage to photos taken on the LCD screen displays a warning and an alarm is issued, if memory card slot is open during the recording of images. The interface includes a video output (displaying possible in NTSC and PAL formats) and USB 2.0.
