Nokia 3120 classic
Nokia 3120 classic is a low-end cell phone which considering its price range offers great functionality and nice looks.
Intro:
Nokia 3120 classic features 2-inch 16M display with QVGA resolution, 2 megapixel camera with LED flash, very good battery life. In addition to that Nokia 3120 classic has quad-band GSM support, stereo FM radio and support of microSD cards and microSDHC.
The design:
Nokia 3120 cell phone is available in two colors as you can see in the photos below. The phone measures 111 x 45 x 13 millimeters and weights only 85g. Although it is made of plastic it feels solid and doesn’t make any disturbing sounds. The front of the cell phone is quite plan, there is only the 2” screen, the keypad and in the top left corner the secondary camera for video calls. The left side of the camera has no controls whatsoever, whereas on the right side you will find only volume rocker. But at the bottom of Nokia 3120 classic there is the microUSB slot, charger plug, and 2.5mm standard audio jack. At the back of the mobile phone is the camera lens together with the LED flash.
Performance:
The call clarity and signal reception are very good in Nokia 3120 classic. The phone can operate in flight mode without a SIM card, unlike for example Sony Ericsson W980. Message management is easy and to turn an SMS to an MMS you only have to add a media file. The SMS messages have a counter of characters up to 1000 and the number of messages it will be sent in. there is a limit of 300 KB on MMS both in sending and receiving. The phonebook can save up to 2000 contacts and up to 5 numbers for each contact and some additional information.
The music player assures good sound quality and 8 equalizer presets which you can easily adjust should they not suffice. The media player supports MP3, MIDI, AAC WMA for audio and MP4 and 3GP for video. The camera can take photos in 2 megapixel resolution which is 1600 x 1200, but because of lack of autofocus and dedicated camera button taking photos is not only a bit too troublesome but does not even bring good results. Besides when you take photos in the highest resolution you will wait a bit for the files to be saved on the card. On the other hand there are some settings such as white balance and three quality levels which when used properly might improve the quality of photos.
Menus / user friendliness:
Nokia 3120 classic let’s you customize many of its features so it is quite user friendly, but it does it at the expense of ease of navigation through menus. So the more you want to change to further you have to deep into the menus. The cell phone comes with a few applications pre-installed, such as WAP browser, organizer, calculator and six games with nice graphics.
