Samsung LE40A559P, LE40A556P and LE40A558 HD TVs

Samsung LE40A559P is one of three HD TVs recently released by Samsung, but the two other models, namely LE40A556P and LE40A558 differ only esthetically and have the same hardware.

Intro:
Samsung LE40A559P is a 40 inch full HD TV with very good black level, good for LCD viewing angle and fully resolved 1920×1080 over HDMI. According to the information I received LE40A556P and LE40A558 have the same LCD panel and video processing so obviously their video performance should be identical. The design:
Samsung LE40A559P is minimalist in design and unlike some previous Samsung models without any red stripes. Those models have a glossy black-only bezel. Looking from the from on the right side of the TV set you will find control buttons, whereas on the left side HDMI, USB, headphone, comp and svideo ports. The remaining ports are at the back of the TV relatively near the ports on the side.
The remote control is not backlit, but feels comfortable and light.

Performance:
Samsung LE40A559P produces high quality full HD image and thanks to numerous options you can adjust the screen to slightly change the displayed image depending on whether you are watching a film of playing games. The options are to make your life easier, but sometimes it takes a while to choose the appropriate presets for what you are doing at the moment. But you should experience that only at the very beginning of using your new TV and quickly get accustomed to it and operate it smoothly.
The Samsung LE40A559P has reasonable power consumption. By default it needs 182 watts, calibrated 90 watts and only 1 watt in standby mode.

Menus / ease of use:
The remote control is not too crammed and it is responsive so it  feels really comfortable. The menus in Samsung LE40A559P are logically ordered and well described so you need not worry about spoiling the image.
In general, the Samsung LE40A559P is or sure worth recommending partially because of its few drawbacks and partially because of low price.
