LG KT610

LG KT610 is one of the smallest Symbian full-QWERTY smartphone aimed at businessmen.

Intro:
LG KT610 at first glance looks like a phone from ten years ago with its large button and small screen at the front. But in fact the design is catchy and as it is also very functional it seems that LG engineers knew what they were doing. Besides, the phone only looks inconspicuously. The LG KT610 has two displays, built-in GPS receiver, good multimedia management and a 2 megapixel digital camera.

LG KT610 pros:
+ Full QWERTY keyboard
+ 2.4″ 262K-color QVGA display inside
+ 1.45″ 262K-color secondary display
+ Symbian OS v9.2 with S60 rel. 3.1 UI
+ 3G with HSDPA
+ 2 megapixel fixed-focus camera
+ Built-in GPS receiver with good sensitivity
+ Bluetooth and USB v2.0
+ Nice price

LG KT610 cons:
- No Wi-Fi
- average camera
- No image geotagging
- small external display of little usability
- below-average battery life
- No A-GPS

The design:
LG KT610 measures 108.9 x 53.9 x 17.2mm and weights 125.5 grams. It is made of good quality materials and it does not produce any disturbing sounds. The folding top of LG KT610 locks in two positions. The first is at about 120 degrees, which is very comfortable for desktop use. The other position is full flat. On both sides of the internal display are the speakers which not only look but also sound great. On the right side of the cell phone is the microSD memory card slot. On the left side, between the hinges, is the volume rocker. At the back of LG KT610 is the 2-megapixel fixed-focus camera lens and a self-portrait mirror. LG KT610 has two displays both with 262K colors, however, the external display is of little use. The internal display is really nice with good resolution, colors and what is most important sunlight legibility.

Performance:
LG KT610 has very good reception and call clarity, as well as vibration so you are unlikely to miss a call. The phone runs on Symbian 9.2 OS with Feature Pack 1. There is only one theme pre-installed, but there are plenty of themes and applications on the Internet so customization is good. The external screen handles six basic features: contacts, new message, message inbox, music player, camera and calls log. The LG KT610 phonebook is practically unlimited. There are plenty of entry fields and you can assign a ringtone, or a photo to each contact. You can search contacts by gradual typing, of any part of a given contact. The call log has records of all your calls from the last thirty days, but also messages and data transfers.
Browsing the Internet with LG KT610 is a real pleasure. Even the most elaborate websites are rendered very well. You can zoom in and out and in order not to get lost on a website you have a minimap to help you.
The music player on LG KT610 is of surprisingly good (for a business device) quality. There are four equalizer presets and an ‘auto’ option, but you can also add your own preset. LG KT610 supports plenty of music files including MP3, AAC and WMA. There is also a Real player for videos and it does the job well.
When it comes to the LG KT610 camera and video capabilities thongs don’t look so good. The 2-megapixel photos are of average quality, and there is no flash so taking photos in lower light is out of the question. You can record films only in CIF resolution at 10fps.
The GPS works fine on LG KT610 and although it lacks A-GPS it works surprisingly fast. It has great sensitivity and as the handset has Google Maps pre-installed you are almost ready to go.

Menus / ease of use:
LG KT610 runs on Symbian so it is pleasant to work with and easy to use. It allows customization of its almost every aspects and even it if lacks something you would like to use you can probably find it somewhere on the Internet. LG KT610 comes with Word, Excel and Powerpoint support, but you can only view the files. The phone comes also with two trials of games, which in my opinion is enough for a business device.
