Thanks to the built-in accelerometer you can skip tracks just like in the latest iPod Nano. The Samsung M3200 Beat has dedicated music player keys, radio with RDS, the DNSe engine and much more.

The design:
Samsung M3200 Beat measures 96.5 x 46.9 x 16.9 mm and weighs 101 grams. The cell phone has all the goodies necessary for not only every music lover, but for all the people who appreciate neat design: dedicated music buttons, comfortable keypad, excellent hand fit. Moreover, the Samsung M3200 Beat comes in two different colors: Gray-on-Lilac and Gray-on-Orange, so you can choose the one that suits you more. The front of Samsung M3200 Beat houses the 2-inch screen which may seem a bit smallish nowadays, but it generally does the job quite well. The direct sunlight legibility has been improved, but it still lags behind Nokia or the iPhone. Under the display you will find the dedicated music player controls which will start the music player even if you are somewhere in the phone’s menu. On the right side of the phone is the loudspeaker grill, the camera key and the universal port. The left side of Samsung M3200 Beat houses the volume rocker, and music player dedicated key and the second loudspeaker. At the back of the phone is, of course, the 2-megapixel camera lens and the 800mAh Li-Ion battery chamber. Although the back is a bit slippery the overall phone quality is commendable.
Performance:
Samsung M3200 Beat unlike some other Samsung handsets has excellent reception and voice quality at all times. It is also one of the loudest handsets among the recently released cell phones. The Samsung M3200 Beat is a music cell phone and as such it needs to be said that it is a very competitive products that should satisfy even the most demanding users. Thanks to the Bang&Olufsen ICEpower chip the phone has very good sound quality. The 3.5 standard jack makes it more accessible and the built-in accelerometer for shake control also makes it fun to use.
The DNSe technology was also supposed to improve the quality, but what it does is increase the battery life (the sound quality is great nevertheless). The Samsung M3200 Beat has an Auto EQ function which automatically adjusts the present equalizer to best suit the kind of music you are listening to. Of course, you can browse your music collection by artist, track, album, or genre. But there are also a few things that Samsung neglected in this phone like the camera for example. Although it is 2-megapixel with the maximum resolution of 1600 x 1200 the image quality is far from perfect. It is usable but other phones often do a better job here.
Menus / ease of use:
Navigating through the the menus is fast and easy thanks to the good Samsung proprietary system. As the phone comes with three pre-installed themes it is really easy to customize it. There are also six different dialing animations and you can of course change the wallpaper. There are few things I disliked about Samsung M3200 Beat, like the slow zoom in and out, average image quality, but considering the fact that it is supposed to be a music phone I think you can live with that. Especially that the music features are truly great.
