The design:
Nokia E63 measures 113 x 59 x 13 mm and weighs 126 grams. As it is a full QWERTY device it is quite sizeable, on the other hand, comparing it with other similar devices shows that it is in fact relatively small for such a device. Although the phone is entirely made of plastic the materials used are of high quality so the phone both looks and feels solid and durable. The front of the phone houses the 2.36-inch display and, of course, the QWERTY keyboard beneath it. On the left side of Nokia E63 you will find the microSD card slot along with the microUSB port, both of which are covered with plastic caps. The right side has not ports, or controls, whereas at the top of Nokia E63 is the standard 3.5mm audio jack. The bottom features lanyard eyelet together with the charger plug, and the mouthpiece. The back of the phone is home to the 2 megapixel camera lens, LED flash and a self-portrait mirror. The overall impression of the design and construction of Nokia E63 is quite good. The screen doe not get smudges, the keys are responsive and the phone seems very well balanced.

Performance:
Thanks to its 1500 mAh Li-Ion battery the Nokia E63 has one of the best battery performance on the market. The phone is supposed to work 432 hours in stand-by, or 11 hours of talk time and although you will most likely use the phone also to do other tasks the battery is for sure good. The reception is very good and the in-call sound quality it also commendable. As Nokia E63 runs on Symbian 9.2and has 369 MHz processor all operations are performed quickly and smoothly.
As the majority of modern cell phones the Nokia E63 has a music and video layer on the top of its business functionality. The music player supports plenty of file types and has five equalizer presets. You can also create your own equalizer presets, yet, unfortunately, that will not help too much. That is simply because the Nokia E63 has one of the words scores in various tests checking audio quality. This phone will not substitute your dedicated mp3 or mp4 player.
Browsing the Internet with Nokia E63 is a pleasure. The pages are rendered just like on your Mac or PC and thanks to plenty of RAM memory you can open a few tabs and work smoothly. In fact, the entire business-related area is covered very well in Nokia E63. The phone comes with pre-installed document viewer and editor, PDF reader and ZIP manager. Moreover, the phone has time saving applications lite unit converter, Notes, calendar, dictionary and Nokia Maps (although the phone lacks GPS receiver).

Image quality:
The 2 megapixel digital camera with fixed focus and LED flash is also not of the best quality. You get some options like self timer, color effects, night mode and sequence mode but the photos lack detail and have too much noise. The video recording feature is also disappointing. You can record clips in QVGA resolution and at 15 fps so they are only good for MMSs.

Menus / ease of use:
The main menu has two different view modes: a list and a grid of icons. If you decide to use a list you can adjust the font size. The Nokia E63comes with 5 pre-installed themes, but you can download new ones from the Internet. The phonebook has no limits of entries, as is always the case with Symbian phones. The call log records information about the last 20 calls in 3 tabs: missed calls, received and outgoing. Thanks to the Advanced call manager you can chose which calls to accept. One more handy feature in this bussines cell phone is the Remote Wipe. The message editor is easy to use and has a counter of characters up to 160 when it tells you that your message will be sent in parts. Setting up your email account is as easy as providing your email address and password and you’re ready to go.
